Sizing for the "Chained Heart" piece needs to be determined by how loose you want this piece to hang on the person for whom it is being purchased. The easiest way to make this decision is to use butcher twine, a cotton string that can be found at most grocery stores in the meat department. This is the string that they use to tie roasts or rotisserie chickens. Take a quarter (.25 cents) or something equal to this size and weight and tape one end of the string to the quarter 2/3 of the way from the bottom of the quarter. Then, place the quarter or whatever you have used for this marking piece, at the place on the person's wrist, ankle, neck or waist where they want the "Heart Clasp" of the piece to lay while being worn. Wrap the string around the person's wrist, ankle, neck or waist and tie the string when you get the coin to lay where you want the "Heart Clasp" to lay. Have the person who will be wearing this move around a bit to make sure that there is enough "hang room" and that it is not too tight. Once you have this, cut the string. Lay the string out in a straight line and measure this with a seamstress tape or tape measure. Order the length of your "Chained Heart" that is the next length longer. If your wrist measures 8 ½ inches, order the next longer length at 9 inches. (If you need a longer length than what is shown in our chart, Sir Mark will do that for a slightly higher price to pay for the extra silver.) When your "Chained Heart" arrives to you, wear it a little while to determine what length they like with the "extra" length just hanging down. (Close the clasp into a link in the chain other than the last one). Once you have found the exact length that is best for the person wearing the "Chained Heart", cut out the extra link, being sure to leave the link that will be used to clip the clasp in place. To cut this length out, if you desire, use a pair of wire cutters or you can take your "Chained Heart" to the nearest hardware store and they will cut this link out for you. You can also wear the extra length link by allowing it to hang down, if you like it this way.
